See what members of SIBC's IPE team had to say:

“During my time working with the IPE Forum this semester, I was given the opportunity to research Microsoft’s geopolitical impact through AI. I learned a lot about the company’s interest in protecting democratic values abroad including freedom of speech through companies like Microsoft Account Guard. I am double majoring in Politics & Government and Spanish. This semester specifically I have been learning about historical United States foreign policy practices. This project provided a wonderful opportunity to see how international governmental connections are being facilitated and maintained in real time. I was able to network with fellow SIBC students from Notre Dame and the University of San Diego through our weekend of travel in South Bend hosted by Notre Dame. This trip was a great time to get to know my fellow teammates and mentor, as well as consider the possibility of continuing my education at Notre Dame. I am grateful to our sponsors and benefactors for providing opportunities to travel and network with other students.” - Elianna Watson

“As the mentor for the IPE team I was able to grow in my leadership capabilities. Having done multiple joint events in the past, I brought some experience that was able to help the team prepare for their presentation. This event helped me see how each person can bring their own experience and contribute to the project in a unique way, even if they are not going to present. Through SIBC I have gained real world skills that I can apply as I begin to enter into the workforce.” - Marissa Mantz
