Sihle Tours Solutions is a small tourism business in South Africa. Students worked with the founders and owners of the business. Students designed a website and drafted a marketing plan. Specifically, “Sihle Tours Solutions was established in 2004. With steady growth . . . from a fledgling company operating one vehicle to its present position as a small yet competitive industry operator, Sihle Tours Solutions has earned a reputation for satisfying the needs of the budget traveler with an appreciation of historical heritage, natural beauty, ecotourism and human values. Sihle Tours Solutions maintains a strong focus on sustainable tourism and a commitment to constant forward movement in terms of service, quality and value for money.”
"As the leader of the Sihle Tour Solutions project, I had a new experience of leading an SIBC group, this involved communicating with our client to understand their expectations and hopes for us in building them a marketing plan and website. This helped me to better learn how to convert goals from a client into achievable steps for my team to complete, and to work with my team to both help them to accomplish these goals, and to edit and revise goals that were or were not achievable based on our circumstances. This project has helped me to think critically about what is and is not practical information that will be useful to our client and has also helped me to think creatively about what can help our client to succeed." - Joshua Arendt
"During my time working on the marketing team for Sihle Tours Solutions I have learned so much. Our group of three worked on constructing a marketing plan for Sihle Tour Solutions to use and raise their brand awareness. We worked alongside our clients through zoom meetings and a group message to create a marketing plan that worked for their company and met their expectations. Working with a company from across the world has given me new knowledge about the importance of communication not only with our client, but also as a team. SIBC has given me new connections and an amazing opportunity to work in a real life setting that pushed me to work hard not only for myself but for others. This project really helped me to think critically and utilize all sources of information around me." - Leia LaHood
