This team will plan, organize, and host an international event on campus. This could include activities such as a bake-off with dishes from various cultures, dance lessons, foreign movie nights, international trivia, etc.
“This semester I learned more about working with a team and planning and organizing a successful event that helps to communicate information about a culture. We helped guide the community together and spent our time talking with our peers. I was able to expand my experience in marketing which will benefit me as I go on with my major.” - Regan Engle
“Being on the campus cultural event team provided me with opportunities to develop my graphic design skills. I was able to create posters and other promotional material for our events which let me learn different design software. I also gained practical experience working with a team and organizing events. Being on the cultural team I was able to gain valuable insight on other cultures and proliferate the mission of “peace through commerce” right here on campus with my fellow students.” - Jake Donnelly
“Working with a great team, I gained invaluable experience organizing, budgeting, and planning operations. These skills are not those that can be understood solely through theory, but largely through trial, error, and experience. I loved the opportunity to practice what I’m studying – management and get to know my fellow students on a more personal level. Overall, I am extremely proud to have been a member of SIBC here at Benedictine and look forward to furthering the mission of “Peace through Commerce” in my remaining two semesters.” - Gerik Meyers
